Biography
John Saxon was an American actor known for his work in film and television, particularly in Westerns, crime dramas, horror films, and action movies.
He was born Carmine Orrico on August 5, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York. He began his career as a model before signing with Universal Pictures and adopting the professional name John Saxon.
Saxon became known for films such as The Appaloosa (1966), Enter the Dragon (1973), Black Christmas (1974), A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), and A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987). He worked with many major actors and directors throughout his career.
He also had an extensive television career, appearing in series including The Virginian, The Six Million Dollar Man, Starsky & Hutch, The A-Team, and Dynasty.
John Saxon continued acting for more than six decades, appearing in films and television productions across a wide range of genres. He died on July 25, 2020, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, at the age of 83.
