Jon Opstad

Biography

Jon Opstad is a composer known for his scores for a wide range of projects, from the acclaimed "White Bear" and "White Christmas" episodes of the hit dystopian drama Black Mirror (2011) to the BBC One period drama The Woman in White (2018), to Amazon Prime sci-fi drama The Feed (2019), to the major Ubisoft game Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, for which Jon has been the composer since 2018, taking the place of the game's original composers Paul Haslinger & Ben Frost.

Classically trained, but with an approach often making distinctive use of electronics and analog synthesizers, Jon's music also includes works for contemporary dance (including his composition "Ignis IV", used as the soundtrack for a trailer for Brad Pitt film Ad Astra (2019)), as well as recorded works such as his classical single "Blue Sky, White Clouds" on the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label.
