Joseph Lee is an American actor and visual artist, born on 29 December 1987 in Arizona and raised in Indiana. He studied political science and history at Purdue University before pursuing acting professionally.
Lee made his film debut in the mystery thriller Searching (2018), which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He also appeared in the South Korean drama The Miracle We Met (2018), as well as Rizzoli & Isles and NCIS: Los Angeles.
His breakthrough came with Netflix's Beef (2023), in which he played George Nakai, a sculptor and stay-at-home father married to Amy Lau, played by Ali Wong. His performance earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Alongside acting, Lee is an accomplished visual artist and painter, with a studio based in Los Angeles. His career combines his interests in acting and visual art, making him a distinctive presence in contemporary American entertainment.
