Josh Hopkins

Biography

Josh Hopkins (born September 12, 1970) is an American actor known for his work in film and television. Born Joshua Baret Henderson Hopkins in Lexington, Kentucky, he began his acting career in the 1990s and has appeared in a wide range of dramas, comedies, and television series.

Hopkins gained early recognition through supporting roles in films such as G.I. Jane (1997), The Perfect Storm (2000), and Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999). He also appeared in the television series Ally McBeal, playing Raymond Milbury.

He became particularly well known for his television roles, including Grayson Ellis in the comedy-drama series Cougar Town (2009–2015), where he starred alongside Courteney Cox. He also played Liam O'Connor in the political thriller series Quantico and appeared in shows such as New York Undercover, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Vanished, Private Practice, and Whiskey Cavalier.

His film credits include The Opposite of Sex (1998), Win a Date with Tad Hamilton! (2004), Syriana (2005), The Death and Life of Bobby Z (2007), and Rust (2024).

In Rust, directed by Joel Souza, Hopkins appeared alongside Alec Baldwin, Frances Fisher, and Patrick Scott McDermott. The Western was completed and released in 2024 following the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins in 2021.

Josh Hopkins has built a career primarily through television, while continuing to take roles in feature films. He is particularly recognized for Cougar Town, Quantico, Ally McBeal, and his numerous supporting performances in film and television.
