Biography
Jules Asner (born Julie Ann White on February 14, 1968, in Tempe, Arizona) is an American personality whose career has spanned modeling, entertainment journalism, and screenwriting.
🎭 Early Life and Television Career
Asner was discovered at a modeling convention at the age of 16 and began her career as a model for Elite Model Management, even sharing an early bunk-room with Cindy Crawford.
She transitioned to television, becoming a prominent entertainment journalist and television personality. She was a fixture on a major entertainment network for many years, where she hosted several programs, including E! News Live, the travel series Wild On!, and her own interview show, Revealed with Jules Asner, for which she won a prestigious Prism Award. She previously worked as an entertainment reporter for outlets such as Reuters Television and the syndicated news program Extra.
✍️ Transition to Writing and Notable Works
Following her television career, Asner turned to writing.
Author: In 2008, she published her first novel, Whacked, a romantic thriller about the dating world in Los Angeles.
Screenwriter (Rebecca Blunt): She is widely credited as the writer of the 2017 heist comedy film Logan Lucky, directed by her husband, Steven Soderbergh. Asner used the pseudonym Rebecca Blunt for the screenplay because she did not want the attention surrounding the film to focus on her personal connection to the director. She has also done uncredited rewrite work on several of her husband's other films.
She married film director Steven Soderbergh in 2003. Asner's career reflects a successful evolution from on-screen presence to a behind-the-scenes creative force in Hollywood.
