Julie Harris (December 2, 1925 – August 24, 2013) was an American actress celebrated for her remarkable work in theatre, film, and television. Considered one of the greatest stage actresses of her generation, she won numerous awards and became known for her emotionally complex performances.

Julie Ann Harris was born on December 2, 1925, in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan. She developed an interest in acting at an early age and studied drama before beginning her professional career. She attended the Yale School of Drama and trained in theatre.

Harris became one of Broadway's most respected performers. She made her Broadway debut in It's a Gift (1945) and gained major recognition for her role as Sally Bowles in I Am a Camera (1951), which was later adapted into the film Cabaret.
