Jung Jin Young

Biography

Jung Jin-young (Korean: 정진영) is a South Korean actor, born on November 19, 1964. He has built a distinguished career in Korean cinema and television, taking on roles ranging from historical figures and political characters to doctors, detectives, and family men.

Jung became particularly well known through his collaborations with director Lee Joon-ik. Their notable films together include Once Upon a Time in a Battlefield (2003), The Happy Life (2007), Sunny (2008), and Battlefield Heroes (2011). He delivered one of his most acclaimed performances as King Yeonsan in the historical blockbuster King and the Clown (2005).

His other important film credits include Hi! Dharma! (2001), Bunt (2007), and The Case of Itaewon Homicide (2009). His performances have demonstrated his versatility across comedy, historical drama, crime, and serious character-driven films.

On television, Jung has appeared in major dramas including The Kingdom of the Winds (2008–2009), Dong Yi (2010), and Brain (2011–2012). He has continued to work extensively in both film and television, becoming recognized as one of South Korea's respected veteran character actors.

In May It Please the Court (2022), Jung played Shin Chi-shik, a prominent figure connected to the legal world. The Disney+ legal mystery drama starred Jung Ryeo-won and Lee Kyu-hyung.
