Biography

Jeon Jungkook, widely known as Jungkook, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and songwriter, best recognized as the youngest member (maknae) of the global K-pop sensation BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan). He was born on September 1, 1997,

 in Busan, South Korea.

Early Life and Training

Jungkook grew up in Busan and initially dreamed of becoming a badminton player before being inspired by the performances of K-pop idols. He auditioned for the reality show Superstar K3 in 2011, which, although he didn’t win, opened doors to multiple entertainment agencies. At just 13, he chose to join Big Hit Entertainment (now HYBE) after being impressed by RM (BTS’s leader). He trained rigorously in singing, dancing, and performance before debuting.

Career with BTS

Jungkook officially debuted with BTS on 13 June 2013 with the single album 2 Cool 4 Skool. Known as the group’s main vocalist, lead dancer, and center, he quickly gained attention for his powerful voice, charismatic stage presence, and versatility.

With BTS, Jungkook has contributed to numerous global hits such as Dynamite, Butter, Permission to Dance, and Boy With Luv. He has also co-written and co-produced several tracks, including Magic Shop and My Time. Over the years, BTS has become a cultural phenomenon, breaking records worldwide and earning recognition at prestigious platforms like the Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, and Grammy nominations.

Solo Career

Beyond BTS, Jungkook has showcased his talent as a solo artist. His solo tracks under BTS’s discography, such as Begin (2016), Euphoria (2018), and My Time (2020), received critical acclaim and commercial success.

In 2023, he officially launched his solo career with the single “Seven” (featuring Latto), which topped charts globally, including the Billboard Hot 100. He followed this with other successful releases like 3D (featuring Jack Harlow) and his debut solo album Golden (2023), solidifying his position as an international pop star.

Jungkook is celebrated not only for his vocal and dance skills but also for his artistry, fashion sense, and influence.
