Biography
Justin Chambers is an American actor and former fashion model, born on July 11, 1970, in Springfield, Ohio. He began his career as a model after being discovered in Paris and worked for major brands including Calvin Klein, Giorgio Armani, and Dolce & Gabbana. He later studied acting in New York at HB Studio.
Chambers made his acting debut with television appearances before moving into films such as Liberty Heights, The Wedding Planner, The Musketeer, The Zodiac, and Lakeview Terrace.
His breakthrough came in 2005 when he was cast as Dr. Alex Karev in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy. He played the character for 15 years, becoming one of the show's best-known original cast members. His performance earned him a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the ensemble and a People's Choice Award.
Chambers left Grey's Anatomy in 2020 to pursue other acting opportunities and focus on his family. He has continued to work in television and film, including appearances in The Offer and Accused.
