Biography

Kabir Bedi is one of India's most famous international actors, with a career that spans from Bollywood to Hollywood and Europe, in films, television, theatre, and radio. Kabir's Italian series "SANDOKAN" made him a major star across all of Europe.

He starred in one of the world's most-watched TV series, "THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL"
He acted in the James Bond "OCTOPUSSY".He has been a voting member of the "Oscars Academy" (Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences) since 1982.

In recent years, he has acted in 5 films in 5 languages: English, Italian, Hindi, Malayalam, and Telegu. He is the Honorary Brand Ambassador for Sight Savers India, which performed over 5 million free eye operations across India.

He is the Honorary Brand Ambassador of Care & Share Italia, which educates children from kindergarten to university in homes and centers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in India.
To top it all, he has been Knighted by the Italian Republic with its highest civilian honor, "Cavaliere".

Speaks fluent Hindi, English, and Italian. He recently completed a 200-episode Italian radio drama for the country's most listened-to radio station. Kabir Bedi was knighted by the Italian Republic he is now Cavalier Kabir Bedi.

Best known for appearing as the main villain's henchman, Gobinda, in the James Bond movie Octopussy and for his role as Sandokan in the mega-hit TV series broadcast across Europe and most of the Spanish-speaking world.

Voted the most eligible bachelor of the year by Cosmopolitan in 1978. Won 4th place in the Best Looking Indian of the Century based on a 45-day Internet survey by the newspaper, The Times of India.

In the Italian tv shows Un Medico in Famiglia (1998) and Vivere (1999) he plays in Italian.

Kabir Bedi was ranked by Google as the no.2 most googled Bollywood Male actor in 2016!

Starring in the West End musical adaptation of M.M. Kaye's "The Far Pavilions", directed by Gale Edwards, at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London.

Kabir finished shooting in Rome for a 26-hour TV series in Italian.

He also toured many cities in Canada and America in 2017. The show was titled "A Tribute to Jagjit Singh with Tausif Akhtar". Kabir Bedi introduced a few songs and narrated stories and incidents about Jagit Singh. 

Om Puri was originally supposed to be in the show. But when he suddenly passed away, Kabir Bedi stepped in as a last-minute replacement.

Former wife Susan Humphreys ( Now known as Ixchel Leigh) appeared in the American documentary "Uncommon Scents".

Grandfather of Aalia Furniturewala. Aalia is the daughter of Pooja Bedi and Farhan Furniturewala. Farhan and Pooja are now divorced. Farhan has married Feroz Khans' daughter Laila Khan. They have a son named Zaan Furniturewala.

Was involved with Persis Khambatta in 1978. This is when Kabir Bedi moved to Los Angeles.

Sister name is Gulhima Bedi. She is a famous professor in Nashua, Boston, USA. She is now married to Sam Scales.

His nephew is Shiv Maira (1973-March 2000). He was the son of Gulhima ( Kabir Bedi's sister) and world-famous architect and artist Shakti Maira.

Released an album in 1977 titled " Im On My Way To Your Heart". The album consisted of 2 songs. One song was instrumental with Kabir Bedi reciting romantic poetry. The second song was instrumental. The album was associated with the Italian TV show Sandokan.

His appearance as the title character in the hit Italian TV series SANDOKAN(1976) served as the inspiration for Ranveer Singh's character design of Sultan Allauddin Khilji in PADMAVAT(2017).
