Biography
Kanaka is an Indian actress who predominantly worked in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. She is best known for her performances in films such as Godfather (1991), Vietnam Colony (1992), Golanthara Vartha (1993), Mannar Mathai Speaking (1995), Periya Kudumbam (1995) and Viralukketha Veekkam (1999).
She made her acting debut as a child artist in Tamil cinema and later became a leading actress during the 1990s. Her breakthrough came with Karagaattakaran (1989), after which she appeared in several successful Tamil and Malayalam films. In Malayalam cinema, her pairing with prominent actors and her performances in family dramas and comedy films earned her considerable popularity.
Kanaka is the daughter of veteran actress Devika, who was a well-known actress in Tamil and Telugu cinema. Kanaka was particularly active during the early and mid-1990s before gradually moving away from the film industry.
