Biography
Kanan Gill is one of India’s most popular stand-up comedians, writers, and content creators, known for his sharp humor, relatable storytelling, and creative versatility. Over the years, he has performed more than a thousand shows across India and internationally, becoming a prominent voice in the country’s stand-up comedy scene.
Kanan first gained widespread fame through the YouTube series Pretentious Movie Reviews, which he co-created with fellow comedian Biswa Kalyan Rath. The show, where the duo humorously reviewed old Bollywood films, became a viral sensation and established Kanan as a leading figure in the new wave of Indian comedy.
In 2016, he expanded his repertoire with several successful projects, including the sketch comedy show How Insensitive!, the mockumentary Better Life Foundation by Them Boxer Shorts, and his live stand-up specials Feeling with Kanan and All Correct Opinions.
His first comedy special, Keep It Real (released on Amazon Prime Video), was a massive hit, praised for its witty observations and relatable humor. Kanan also made his Bollywood debut in Noor (2017), starring alongside Sonakshi Sinha, further showcasing his range as a performer.
