Karan Tacker
Biography
Karan Tacker is a versatile talent, known for his work as an actor, host, and model. Hailing from a family in Punjab, India, Karan pursued a degree in Business Management prior to his debut in the entertainment industry.
Karan's career in the industry took off with modeling assignments and commercials. He was first recognized for his appearance in a Nivea Men's Cream advertisement, which opened the doors to numerous future projects.
He appeared in a short role in the film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (2008) starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma. He landed his first television role in 2009 for the show Love Ne Mila Di Jodi (2009) on STAR One, playing the lead character of Sameer Saxena.
Next, he appeared on Rang Badalti Odhani (2010) in 2010 as Shantanu Khandelwal.
In 2011, Tacker played Viren Singh Vadhera, the lead in Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai (2011), a popular Star Plus show. He was in a relationship with his co-star Krystle D'Souza after the two met on the set of the show.
In 2012, Tacker bagged the award for the Most Fit Actor at the Zee Gold Awards. In the same year, he was nominated in the Indian Television Academy Awards in the GR8! Performer Of The Year (Male) category for Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai.
Tacker participated in the 7th season of the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (2006) in 2014, along with his dance partner Bhawana Khanduja. They were declared the first runner-up of the show.
He has also participated in the cooking reality shows Farah Ki Dawat in 2015, Kitchen Champion (2010) in 2019, and the singing competition show Karaoke Atka Toh Latkah.
Tacker has appeared as a host in several reality shows. He hosted Halla Bol (2014) in 2014, which aired on Bindass, and [linktt7678864] in 2015, which aired on &TV. In 2017, he co-hosted the 8th season of Nach Baliye (2005), a dance couple reality show that aired on Star Plus, with Upasana Singh.
Tacker has appeared in three web series, which earned him much fame. He played the role of Farooq Ali in Disney+ Hotstar's Special OPS (2020) and Special Ops 1.5: The Himmat Story (2021), created and directed by Neeraj Pandey and starring Kay Kay Menon in the lead role of Himmat Singh.
His role as IPS Amit Lodha in the Netflix web series Khakee: The Bihar Chapter (2022), another Neeraj Pandey creation, made him a household name among the Indian streaming platform audience.
Tacker played for the Mumbai Warriors team in the first season of the Box Cricket League, where celebrities formed teams and played indoor cricket. The team finished 6th in that season and was made defunct after that.
