Biography
Katherine Heigl is an American actress and producer, born on November 24, 1978, in Washington, D.C. She began her career as a child model before moving into acting, making her film debut in That Night (1992). She later appeared in My Father the Hero, Under Siege 2: Dark Territory, and Bride of Chucky.
Heigl gained early television recognition as Isabel Evans in the science-fiction series Roswell (1999–2002). Her breakthrough came with Grey's Anatomy, where she played Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevens from 2005 to 2010. Her performance earned her the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007.
She also became a successful film actress, starring in popular romantic comedies including Knocked Up, 27 Dresses, The Ugly Truth, Killers, and Life as We Know It.
