Kavya Madhavan, born on September 19, 1984, in Nileshwaram, Kasaragod, Kerala, is a celebrated Indian actress, classical dancer, singer, and lyricist, predominantly known for her work in Malayalam cinema.

 

 

Early Life and Education

Kavya was born to P. Madhavan and Shyamala. She completed her schooling at Rajah's Higher Secondary School in Nileshwaram. During her school years, she began learning classical dance and participated in various competitions, showcasing her artistic talents from a young age.

 

 

Film Career

Kavya's entry into the film industry began as a child artist at the age of five, with her debut in the 1991 film "Pookkalam Varavayi."

 

 

Her talent was evident early on, leading to more roles as a child artist in films like "Pavam IA Ivachan" (1994) and "Azhakiya Ravanan" (1996).

 

 

In 1999, while still in the ninth grade, Kavya made her debut as a lead actress in Lal Jose's "Chandranudikkunna Dikkil," co-starring Dileep. The film's success established her as a leading actress in the Malayalam film industry.

 

Over the years, she has appeared in over 75 films, earning critical acclaim for her performances.

Kavya married actor Dileep on November 25, 2016, at Vedanta Hotel in Kochi. The couple has a daughter, Mahalakshmi, born on October 19, 2018.
