Biography

Kelly Diane Adams is an English actress, best known for her leading roles across several popular British television dramas and comedy-dramas.

 

 

Early Life and Training

Born on October 16, 1979, in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, Adams was educated locally before pursuing her passion for acting. She trained professionally at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in Wood Green, London, establishing the foundation for her career on both stage and screen.

 

 

Television and Film Career

Adams’s career began with a role as Tara Palmer-Tomkinson in the 2002 TV film Prince William. Her first major recurring role came in the medical drama Holby City, where she played staff nurse Mickie Hendrie from 2004 to 2006. She also appeared as a character in an episode of the sister show, Casualty.

 

 

However, she is arguably most recognized for her role as con artist Emma Kennedy in the BBC One drama series Hustle, joining the main cast for seasons five through eight (2009–2012). This character was a key member of Mickey Bricks' crew of high-stakes grifters.

 

 

Other significant television roles include:

Padre Mary Greenstock in the BBC Three comedy-drama Bluestone 42 (2013–2014), a series focusing on a bomb disposal detachment in Afghanistan.

Nancy Webb in the third series of the period drama Mr Selfridge (2015).

Appearances in popular dramas such as Death in Paradise and Endeavor.

In film, Adams has appeared in the 2009 biographical crime film Bronson as Irene Peterson.

 

 

Personal Life

Kelly Adams is married to fashion photographer Chris Kennedy, with whom she shares an interest in fitness activities like duathlons and triathlons.
