Biography
Kim Chang-ju, born 7 October 1972 in Seoul, South Korea, is a South Korean film editor, director, and writer. He began his career in the editing department of Welcome to Dongmakgol (2005) and went on to edit more than 60 films and several television projects.
He is best known for editing acclaimed films such as Snowpiercer (2013), A Hard Day (2014), Tunnel (2016), and The Witch: Part 1. The Subversion (2018), Midnight Runners (2017), and The Great Battle (2018). He also worked as an editor on Netflix's Kingdom and Kingdom: Ashin of the North.
Kim won the Grand Bell Award for Best Editing for Snowpiercer and the Blue Dragon Award for Best Editing for A Hard Day.
He made his directorial debut with Hard Hit (2021), an action thriller starring Jo Woo-jin and Ji Chang-wook. He later directed and edited Amazon Bullseye (2024).
