Dance  Giddha (Punjabi: ਗਿੱਧਾ, گدها)

Kiran Born and raised in the heart of Punjab, KIran grew up immersed in the rich cultural tapestry of her homeland. From a young age, she was captivated by the rhythm and vibrancy of Giddha, a dance that narrates the stories of women’s lives, including their joys, sorrows, and dreams.

Training: Kiran trained under the tutelage of esteemed Giddha masters, learning the intricate steps, gestures, and expressions that define this folk dance. She honed her skills in the traditional call-and-response singing format, where a lead singer recites a verse (boli) and the circle of dancers responds, all while clapping and moving in unison.

Performances: She has performed at numerous festivals, weddings, and cultural events, both locally and internationally, showcasing the traditional attire of bright salwar kameez or Ghagra, adorned with folk ornaments and a tikka on the forehead. Her performances are a testament to the dance’s ability to convey stories and emotions through its energetic yet graceful movements.
