Born Komal Kumar Shivalingappa in Mayasandra, Tumkur, Karnataka, Komal comes from a family with industrialist roots. While he initially considered pursuing civil services, he eventually gravitated towards cinema. His elder brother, Jaggesh, is a well-established actor in the Kannada film industry, and Komal often collaborated with him professionally.
Komal made his acting debut in 1992 with the film "Super Nan Maga," playing a supporting role. He steadily built his filmography, appearing in over 100 films in various capacities.
