Krishna Sekhar
Biography
Krishna Sekhar, born Krishnakumar Kulasekaran on February 14, 1978, in India, is a multifaceted Indian actor and producer primarily associated with Tamil cinema. He hails from a film-oriented family; his father, K.K. Sekar, is a film producer, and his brother, Vishnuvardhan, is a noted Tamil film director. Krishna pursued his education at St. Bede's Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai and later graduated with an MBA in finance from the United States. Before venturing into the film industry, he worked in the IT sector and also trained in jazz dance, showcasing his diverse interests and talents.
Career
Krishna's initial foray into cinema began with minor roles in acclaimed films such as Mani Ratnam's Anjali (1990) and Iruvar (1997). He made his lead acting debut in Alibhabha (2008), produced by his father. Although the film received positive reviews, it didn't achieve commercial success. Undeterred, Krishna continued to build his acting portfolio with notable performances in films like Kattradhu Kalavu (2010), Kazhugu (2012), and Yaamirukka Bayamey (2014). His role in Kazhugu, portraying a man who recovers bodies of suicide victims, was particularly well-received.
In 2017, Krishna starred in the thriller Yaakkai, playing the character Kathir. Beyond acting, he expanded his horizons into production, contributing to projects like the Telugu-language thriller web series High Priestess (2019), which premiered on ZEE5.
