Biography

Kristen Wilson is an American actress and dancer best known for her roles in the Dr. Dolittle film series, Twitches, Twitches Too, Walking Tall, and Dungeons & Dragons. She has also appeared in numerous television productions, including Crossing Jordan, The District, Matt Waters, and Shark. Her career has encompassed film, television, dance, and theater.

Early Life and Education

Kristen Wilson was born on September 4, 1969, in Massachusetts and was raised in the Boston area. She trained as a dancer from an early age and performed with the Boston Ballet for four years. Her background in dance gave her extensive stage experience before she began pursuing a career as an actress.

Wilson studied musical theater at Syracuse University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. During her junior year, she took time away from her studies to join a national touring production of West Side Story. The experience helped develop her skills as a performer and contributed to her transition toward professional acting.

Beginning of Acting Career

Wilson began appearing on screen in the early 1990s. Her early credits included Prototype (1992), Who's the Man? (1993), and Dead Funny (1994). She also worked in television during this period, gradually building experience in both dramatic and comedic productions.

One of her early significant roles came in the television film Tyson (1995), in which she portrayed Robin Givens. The following year, she appeared alongside Adam Sandler and Damon Wayans in the action comedy Bulletproof.

Film Career

During the 1990s, Wilson appeared in several notable films. She worked with director Spike Lee in Girl 6 and Get on the Bus, while also appearing in The Pompatus of Love and Bulletproof.

Her career reached a wider audience when she was cast as Lisa Dolittle in Dr. Dolittle (1998), starring Eddie Murphy. She returned as Lisa in Dr. Dolittle 2 (2001) and Dr. Dolittle 3 (2006). The role became one of the most recognizable parts of her film career.

Wilson subsequently appeared in the fantasy film Dungeons & Dragons (2000), playing Norda, an elf archer. She also appeared in The Photographer (2000), Ritual (2001), and Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002).

Walking Tall and Later Film Roles

In 2004, Wilson appeared in the action film Walking Tall, starring Dwayne Johnson. She played Michelle Vaughn in the film, adding another major studio production to her résumé.

She continued working in film with appearances in Shackles (2005), Twitches (2005), Crossover (2006), Twitches Too (2007), Soccer Mom (2008), and Mega Python vs. Gatoroid (2011).

Television Career

Alongside her film work, Wilson developed an extensive television résumé. She appeared in programs such as New York Undercover, The Big Easy, Matt Waters, and Crossing Jordan. She later had a recurring role as Kendall Truman on the television series The District.
