Kruthika Jayakumar is an Indian actress and classical Bharatanatyam dancer known for her work in Telugu and Kannada cinema. She has appeared in films such as Intlo Deyyam Nakem Bhayam and Kavacha, earning recognition for her graceful screen presence and strong dance background.
Early Life and Background
Kruthika comes from a Tamil-speaking family based in Bengaluru, Karnataka. She began learning Bharatanatyam at the age of seven and trained under the renowned guru Sri Mithun Shyam. Her early dedication to classical dance played a significant role in shaping her artistic journey.
Her transition to cinema happened unexpectedly when she was spotted during a stage performance in Thiruvananthapuram. Impressed by her talent, filmmaker Balu Kiriyath encouraged her to explore acting, which led her to audition for film roles.
Film Career
Kruthika made her acting debut in the Telugu film Drushyam, where she portrayed the daughter of Venkatesh Daggubati. The role brought her considerable attention and introduced her to a wider audience.
Following her Telugu debut, she entered the Kannada film industry with Boxer, co-starring Dhananjaya. She later appeared in the thriller Kavacha (2018) alongside Shiva Rajkumar, in which she played a dancer—an opportunity that allowed her to blend her classical dance roots with her acting.
