Biography

Sri, born Kommineni Srinivasa Chakravarthi (13 September 1966 – 18 April 2015), was a celebrated Indian film composer, playback singer, and television presenter, primarily known for his work in Telugu cinema. The son of renowned music composer K. Chakravarthy, he gained prominence as the host of the popular 1995 television show Anthakshari on Gemini TV.

 

Sri lent his voice to the memorable song "Jagamanta Kutumbam Naadi" from the movie Chakram (2005). He is best remembered for his musical compositions in hit films like Money Money, Little Soldiers, Sindhooram, Anaganaga Oka Roju, Aavida Maa Aavide, Gaayam, and Ammoru.

 

Academically, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Industrial Engineering from Manipal University.

 

Sri passed away on 18 April 2015 in Hyderabad, India, due to complications related to a kidney ailment.
