Biography
Best known for his collaboration with his elder brother Jatin Pandit, Lalit Pandit along with his brother is one of the most popular music composers in Bollywood. The duo who ruled the industry during the 90`s, throughout their 16-year career sold over 50 million units worldwide.
Before ending their relationship in 2006, Lalit Pandit and his brother gave the Bollywood audience several popular scores like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander, Khiladi, Khamoshi: The Musical, Yes Boss, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Mohabbetein, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and Fanaa.
Having started his career with Yaara Dildara in 1991, over the years, Lalit Pandit has composed for more than 50 films. During the initial years of his career, Lalit Pandit composed for several hit films like Khamoshi (1996), and Joh Jeeta Wohi Sikander before eventually winning his maiden Zee Cine Award and Star Screen Award for Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998).
Post-2006, after Lalit split from his long-standing composing partner and brother, Lalit Pandit made his debut as an individual composer with Showbiz in 2007. His other notable credits as a composer include Dabangg (2010), Besharam (2013), Shorgul (2016), Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi (2017), Hamara Tiranga (2018) and I am Banni (2019). Apart from composing, Lalit has also made a cameo appearance in the movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander.
