Biography
Laura Prepon was born on 7 March 1980 in Watchung, New Jersey, USA. She is an American actress, director, producer, and author. She began her career as a model and studied acting at the Total Theatre Lab in New York before moving into television and film.
Prepon rose to fame with her role as Donna Pinciotti in the popular Fox sitcom That '70s Show (1998–2006). She later appeared in October Road, How I Met Your Mother, Castle, House, and Are You There, Chelsea?
Her most internationally recognized role came in Netflix's Orange Is the New Black (2013–2019), where she portrayed Alex Vause, Piper Chapman's former girlfriend and a key figure in her life. Prepon appeared in 82 episodes and also directed several episodes of the series.
Her film credits include Southlander (2001), Slackers (2002), Lightning Bug (2004), The Girl on the Train (2016), and The Hero (2017). She later reprised her role as Donna in That '90s Show (2023–2024) and directed numerous episodes, including all eight episodes of its third season.
Beyond acting, Prepon has developed a career as a director and author. She is also a New York Times bestselling author, with books including The Stash Plan and You and I, as Mothers.
