Biography
Lauren Cohan is an American-British actress best known for her role as Maggie Greene in the hit TV series The Walking Dead. Born in New Jersey, Cohan moved to the United Kingdom at a young age after her mother remarried. She later converted to Judaism, her mother’s adopted faith, and took her stepfather's surname.
Cohan studied drama and English literature at the University of Winchester in England, where she co-founded a theater company that toured with various productions.
Career
Cohan began her acting career with appearances in British and American independent films before breaking into television. She gained early recognition for her role as Bela Talbot in Supernatural and later appeared in The Vampire Diaries and Chuck.
Her breakthrough came in 2011 when she joined The Walking Dead in its second season as Maggie Greene. Her performance was praised for its emotional depth and strength, and she remained a central figure in the series for several seasons. In 2023, she reprised her role in the spin-off series The Walking Dead: Dead City, alongside Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan.
Cohan has also acted in several films, including The Boy (2016), All Eyez on Me (2017), and Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (2016). She briefly stepped away from The Walking Dead in 2018 to star in the short-lived action-comedy series Whiskey Cavalier.
