Born on May 16, 1993, in Seoul, South Korea, IU's journey to stardom began with a passion for music. Despite facing numerous challenges, including financial hardship and rejection from multiple auditions, she persevered and signed with LOEN Entertainment in 2007.   

 

 

Her debut EP, "Lost and Found," was released in 2008, marking the beginning of her illustrious career. However, it was her 2010 single "Good Day" that catapulted her to fame, showcasing her exceptional vocal range and earning her the title of "Nation's Little Sister."
