Lee Ji-Eun, better known by her stage name IU, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer, and actress who has captivated audiences worldwide with her multifaceted talents.   

Early Life and Career Beginnings

Born on May 16, 1993, in Seoul, South Korea, IU's journey to stardom began with a passion for music. Despite facing numerous challenges, including financial hardship and rejection from multiple auditions, she persevered and signed with LOEN Entertainment in 2007.   

Her debut EP, "Lost and Found," was released in 2008, marking the beginning of her illustrious career. However, it was her 2010 single "Good Day" that catapulted her to fame, showcasing her exceptional vocal range and earning her the title of "Nation's Little Sister."   

A Multifaceted Talent

IU's success extends beyond music. She has successfully transitioned into acting, starring in critically acclaimed dramas such as "Dream High," "You're the Best, Lee Soon-shin," "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo," and "My Mister."
