Lee Joo Young
Biography
Lee Joo-young, born in 1978 in South Korea, is a South Korean director and writer known for her work in film and television. She has developed a reputation for creating character-driven stories that explore identity, relationships, ambition, and the pressures of modern life.
She is best known for directing A Single Rider (2017), a drama starring Lee Byung-hun, Gong Hyo-jin, and Ahn So-hee. She later directed the acclaimed series Anna (2022), which follows a woman whose small lie gradually leads her into a completely different life.
Her other notable work includes The Survivors (2014). Through her work as both a director and writer, Lee Joo-young has established herself as a distinctive voice in South Korean cinema and television.
