Biography

Lee Kyu-hyung, also spelled Lee Kyoo-hyung, is a South Korean actor born on November 29, 1983, in South Korea. He studied theater at Dongguk University and began his career through theater and musicals before becoming established in film and television.

He made early film appearances in Castaway on the Moon (2009) and The Face Reader (2013), followed by roles in The Wicked, My Dictator, and You Call It Passion. His television breakthrough came in Stranger (2017), where he played prosecutor Yoon Se-won.

Lee gained widespread recognition for playing Yoo Han-yang in the acclaimed prison drama Prison Playbook (2017). He subsequently appeared in dramas including Life (2018), Doctor John (2019), Hi Bye, Mama! (2020), Voice 4 (2021), Big Bet (2022), and All of Us Are Dead (2022).

In May It Please the Court (2022), Lee portrayed Jwa Si-baek, an eccentric but highly capable public defender who works alongside Noh Chak-hee, played by Jung Ryeo-won. The pair become involved in a serial-murder investigation involving wealthy elderly victims.

His film credits include Innocent Witness (2019), Juror 8 (2019), Diva (2020), A Year-End Medley (2021), Stellar (2022), Noryang: Deadly Sea (2023), Handsome Guys (2024), and Boss (2025).

Lee is also an accomplished musical and theater performer, with notable stage appearances in productions such as Cyrano, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, and Fan Letter. His career demonstrates considerable versatility across theater, musicals, film, television, comedy, thriller, crime, and drama.
