Biography

Lee Yi-kyung (이이경) is a South Korean actor born on January 8, 1989, in Cheongju-si. He embarked on his acting career in 2011 with a minor role in the MBC series "You've Fallen for Me."   

 

 

Early Career & Rising Recognition:

Initially, Lee Yi-kyung took on various supporting roles in popular television dramas. He gained early recognition for his portrayal of a rebellious student in "School 2013" (2012). Subsequently, he appeared in notable dramas such as "My Love from the Star" (2013), where he played a supporting role, and the hit series "Descendants of the Sun" (2016).   

 

 

Breakthrough and Versatility:

Lee Yi-kyung's popularity rose significantly after his comedic role in "Go Back Couple" (2017). This led to his first main role in the JTBC series "Welcome to Waikiki" (2018), where his comedic talents shone, and he reprised this role in the second season. He also showcased his versatility by taking on a more serious role in the MBC mystery thriller "Red Moon, Blue Sun" (2018).   

 

 

Recent Success:

In recent years, Lee Yi-kyung has continued to impress with his diverse roles. He garnered praise for his supporting role in the historical drama "Royal Secret Agent" (2020-2021), for which he won a Best Supporting Actor award at the 2021 KBS Drama Awards. In 2024, he took on the role of a memorable antagonist in the popular drama "Marry My Husband," earning a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards. He is also currently appearing in the drama "Marry You" (2024).   

 

 

Beyond Acting:

Lee Yi-kyung has also been active in variety shows, becoming a fixed cast member of "Hangout with Yoo" since 2022 and hosting "I'm Solo" since 2021, further showcasing his engaging personality to a wider audience.
