Leonardo Lidi

Biography

Leonardo Lidi, born on October 11, 1988, in Rottofreno, near Piacenza, Italy, is an Italian actor and theatre director. He graduated from the Scuola del Teatro Stabile di Torino in 2012 and has developed a career that combines acting, theatre direction, and dramaturgy.

 

Lidi gained recognition as a theatre director through innovative interpretations of classic works. His notable productions include Spettri by Henrik Ibsen, presented at the Venice Biennale in 2018, The Glass Menagerie, The House of Bernarda Alba, The Dead City, and Miss Julie. In 2020, he made his opera-directing debut with Giuseppe Verdi's Falstaff. He received the Italian Theatre Critics' Award in 2020 for his work as a director and playwright.

 

Alongside theatre, Lidi began developing his film career as an actor in 2019. His notable film appearances include Lessons of Love (2019), Rose Island (2020), The Peacock's Paradise (2021), and L'amore e altre seghe mentali (2024). In Rose Island, he played Maurizio Orlandini alongside Elio Germano.

 

His television work includes Carosello Carosone (2021), Noi (2022), Everybody Loves Diamonds (2023), Antonia (2024), Dostoevsky (2024), and Miss Fallaci (2025). He has also appeared in Leopardi – Il poeta dell'infinito (2025).
