Biography

Lionel Wigram is a British film producer, screenwriter, and former studio executive best known for his work on major Hollywood productions, particularly the Sherlock Holmes film series. He was born in London, England.

Career

Wigram began his career in the film industry working in development and production. He spent many years at Warner Bros., where he became involved in developing and overseeing major feature-film projects.

He is particularly known for his collaboration with director Guy Ritchie and actor Robert Downey Jr. on Sherlock Holmes (2009). Wigram served as a producer and also contributed to the screenplay and story. The film presented Sherlock Holmes as an energetic and action-oriented detective and became a major international success.

He returned as a producer and writer for Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (2011), which again starred Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Dr. Watson.
