LisaGay Hamilton is an American actress, director, and producer known for her work in film, television, and theatre. She has built a diverse career portraying dramatic and complex characters and has appeared in both independent films and major television productions.

Early Life

LisaGay Hamilton was born on March 25, 1964, in St. Joseph, Missouri, USA. She developed an interest in acting early in life and went on to study theatre, beginning a professional career on stage before moving into film and television.

Career

Hamilton became recognized for her work in theatre and later gained wider attention through television and film. One of her most notable television roles was Rebecca Washington on the legal drama The Practice, where she was a regular cast member for several seasons.

Her film credits include The Sum of All Fears (2002), Men of Honor (2000), The Soloist (2009), Beloved (1998), and Jackie Brown (1997). In The Soloist, she appeared alongside Jamie Foxx, Robert Downey Jr., and Catherine Keener.

Hamilton has also appeared in numerous television series, including House, NYPD Blue, Grey's Anatomy, Law & Order, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Madam Secretary.

Directing and Producing

In addition to acting, Hamilton has worked as a director and producer.
