Biography

Lucia Zucchetti is an accomplished Italian film editor, widely recognized for her meticulous work and significant contributions to a diverse range of acclaimed films. She is particularly known for her BAFTA Award-winning editing on "Boy A" (2007) and her frequent collaborations with prominent directors.

 

 

 

Born in Monza, Italy, Zucchetti developed an early interest in film. Her education included attending ITSOS (Istituto tecnico statale ordinamento speciale), an experimental secondary school in Milan, and later graduating with a baccalaureate in film from the University of Westminster, where she specialized in editing.

 

 

Zucchetti began her career by cutting award-winning short films and early features for director Lynne Ramsay, establishing a strong professional relationship with her on films like "Ratcatcher" (1999) and "Morvern Callar" (2002).

 

 

Throughout her career, Zucchetti has consistently collaborated with a wide array of critically acclaimed directors. Her notable collaborations include working with Stephen Frears on films such as "Mrs Henderson Presents" (2005), "The Queen" (2006) – for which she received a BAFTA nomination – and "Chéri" (2009). She has also frequently teamed up with Irish director John Crowley, cutting his debut feature "Intermission" (2003) and later "Boy A" (2007), for which she earned the BAFTA Award for Best Editing. Other collaborations include work with Lone Scherfig, Clio Barnard, and Jay Roach, with whom she worked on the HBO film "Game Change" (2012), earning a Primetime Emmy nomination.

 

 

Zucchetti's filmography spans numerous impactful films, demonstrating her versatility across genres.
