Ludivine Sagnier
Biography
Ludivine Sagnier, born 3 July 1979 in La Celle-Saint-Cloud, France, is a French actress known for her work in film, television, and theatre. She began acting as a child and made her feature-film debut in Les Maris, les Femmes, les Amants (1989).
She gained major recognition through her collaborations with director François Ozon, appearing in Water Drops on Burning Rocks (2000), 8 Women (2002), and Swimming Pool (2003). Her performance in 8 Women earned her a César nomination and the Romy Schneider Award.
Sagnier also appeared as Tinker Bell in Peter Pan (2003), helping introduce her to international audiences. Her later film credits include Love Songs (2007), A Secret (2007), Mesrine: Public Enemy No. 1 (2008), The Devil's Double (2011), The Truth (2019), and When Fall Is Coming (2024).
Internationally, she has appeared in The Young Pope (2016), The New Pope (2020), The Serpent Queen (2022–2024), and Franklin (2024). She is particularly well known to global audiences for playing Claire Laurent, Assane Diop's former partner, in Netflix's Lupin.
Sagnier has also maintained a theatre career and has worked as an acting educator, founding an acting program at Kourtrajmé Film School in 2020.
