Biography
Ludovica Rampoldi, born on January 23, 1979, in Rome, Italy, is an Italian screenwriter and director known for her work in film and television. She began her career as a screenwriter and has become one of Italy’s prominent writers, working on acclaimed films and television series.
Rampoldi has written films including The Double Hour (2009), The Jewel (2011), The Invisible Boy (2014), and The Traitor (2019). Her work on The Traitor, written with Marco Bellocchio, Valia Santella, and Francesco Piccolo, earned major recognition, including the David di Donatello and Nastro d’Argento for Best Screenplay.
Her television career includes writing for Gomorrah, creating the 1992, 1993, and 1994 series, and working on the Italian adaptation of In Treatment. She also co-created and wrote The Bad Guy (2022) with Davide Serino and Giuseppe G. Stasi, and worked on Esterno Notte (2022) and The Lions of Sicily (2023).
In 2025, Rampoldi made her feature directorial debut with Breve storia d’amore, while continuing her screenwriting work. Her career reflects a strong interest in complex characters, crime stories, relationships, and psychologically driven narratives.
