Biography

Luing Andrews is a British actor, writer, and director who is active in productions on both sides of the Atlantic. Born in Richmond, Surrey, Andrews grew up in London.

 

 

Background and Stunt Career

Andrews' professional journey began outside of conventional acting. From a very early age, he trained in boxing and later in several forms of martial arts, including kickboxing, winning various tournaments. This experience and success naturally led to him being noticed by directors, starting his career as a stunt performer in the UK. 

 

He trained as a probational stunt performer from 1989 to 1992. His first feature film, Called Home, saw him not only acting but also performing his own stunts. While he primarily acts now, he continues to participate in stunts for some of his roles.

 

 

Acting and Filmography

Andrews transitioned into acting, training at The Actors Theatre School in London, including a RADA Summer Pass in 1993. His acting work includes a variety of roles, frequently portraying "Nasty Gangster or Tough Cop types." He has appeared in films such as:

Literary Career

In addition to his film work, Luing Andrews is a published author. He wrote the crime drama novel 8ish: When It's Time to Get Out, It's Time, which was originally a screenplay. The novel follows Sean O'Shea, an ex-criminal attempting to guard his family from organized crime. A sequel, 9ish, is noted to be forthcoming. Andrews co-wrote the published novel with Jack East.
