Luke Kenny
Biography
Luke Kenny is a versatile Indian artist—actor, director, producer, composer, and former VJ—who first rose to fame as Channel V’s first male VJ after starting as a DJ and dancer. He gained major recognition for his role in Rock On!! (2008) and later earned renewed acclaim for playing mercenary Malcolm Murad in Netflix’s Sacred Games.
Born in Kolkata to an Anglo-Indian family with Irish, British, and Italian roots, Kenny grew up in Mumbai in a musical household, which shaped his early passion for music. He left college to pursue a creative career.
Over the years, he has worked as a vocalist, columnist, channel head of 9XO, and filmmaker. He directed and produced 13th Floor (2005), India’s first digitally released film, and later produced and starred in the zombie film Rise of the Zombie (2013). His recent work includes appearances in Inside Edge, Tanhaji, Rudra: The Edge of Darkness, and upcoming web projects, reaffirming his continued presence in Indian cinema and digital entertainment.
