Mairzee Almas
Biography
Mairzee Almas is a Canadian television director and filmmaker from Vancouver, British Columbia. She began her career as an actress before studying at Vancouver Film School and later moving into assistant directing and television directing. Her first directing opportunities came with episodes of Smallville and Da Vinci's Inquest.
Almas has directed numerous television series across science fiction, fantasy, drama, and superhero genres. Her notable credits include Smallville, The 100, 12 Monkeys, Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Outlander, The Witcher, Locke & Key, Y: The Last Man, Shadow and Bone, The Sandman, and Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.
She directed two episodes of the 2022 science-fiction series Paper Girls, including “Some Kind of Burping Trash Hole” and “It B Over.”
Almas also worked as a co-executive producer on Impulse, contributing to nine episodes during its second season. In addition to directing, her earlier career included work as a first assistant director on projects such as Smallville, Reindeer Games, Liberty Stands Still, and Stark Raving Mad.
With decades of experience in television production, Mairzee Almas has established herself as a versatile director known for working across large-scale genre series, character-driven dramas, and streaming productions.
