Maisie Richardson-Sellers was born and raised in London, England. She comes from a family of stage actors, with a diverse heritage—her mother, Joy Richardson, is Black Guyanese, and her father is white British. Growing up, she attended private schools through bursaries and scholarships, which allowed her to develop a strong academic and artistic foundation.

 

 

In 2013, she graduated from Hertford College, University of Oxford, with a degree in archaeology and anthropology. While at Oxford, Richardson-Sellers actively participated in theater, both performing and directing plays such as Mephisto and There Will Be Red, experiences that helped shape her creative vision.

 

 

Career

Richardson-Sellers first gained widespread attention for her role as Rebekah Mikaelson / Eva Sinclair on the CW supernatural series The Originals. She later expanded her television work with key roles such as Amaya Jiwe / Vixen and Charlie on the CW superhero series DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

 

 

Her film and streaming credits include Chloe Winthrop in The Kissing Booth 2 and its third installment on Netflix, as well as Kathy Freeman in Channel 4/Peacock’s political thriller The Undeclared War. Additionally, she appeared in the blockbuster film Star Wars: The Force Awakens as Korr Sella, marking her entry into major cinematic franchises.
