Mallidi Vassishta, born Mallidi Venkata Narayana Reddy on January 8, 1986, is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and actor known for his contributions to Telugu cinema. He is the son of film producer and financier Mallidi Satyanarayana Reddy, which provided him with early exposure to the film industry.
Early Life and Education
Vassishta completed his primary education in Chennai before moving to Hyderabad for his secondary schooling at Nalanda Educational Institutions. He later graduated from St. Mary's College, Hyderabad.
Career Beginnings
Vassishta began his career in the film industry as an assistant director, working on several notable Telugu films in the 2000s, including "Naa Autograph" (2004), "Sakhiya" (2004), "Bhageeratha" (2005), "Bunny" (2005), "Dhee" (2007), and "Bodyguard" (2012). He also ventured into acting with the film "Premalekha Raasa" (2007), where he was credited as Venkat Mallidi.
Directorial Debut and Success
In 2022, Vassishta made his directorial debut with the fantasy action drama "Bimbisara," starring Nandamuri Kalyan Ram. The film received positive reviews and emerged as one of the biggest hits in Kalyan Ram's career, establishing Vassishta as a promising director in the Telugu film industry.
