Manasi Parekh
Biography
Manasi Parekh is an Indian actress, singer, and producer who has worked extensively in Hindi and Gujarati entertainment, as well as Tamil cinema. She was born on 10 July 1986 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. She developed an interest in acting and music from a young age and later built a career spanning television, films, theatre, music, and digital content.
Parekh began her acting career with the television series Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi (2004) and gained wider recognition with shows such as India Calling and Gulaal. She later became particularly popular for playing Maya Walia in the comedy series Sumit Sambhal Lega (2015–2016). She also won the music reality show Star Ya Rockstar in 2011.
She made her Tamil-film debut with Leelai (2012) and later appeared in the Hindi film Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019). She made her Gujarati-film debut with Golkeri (2020), where her performance was widely appreciated.
Her breakthrough in Gujarati cinema came with Kutch Express (2023), in which she played Monghi. Her performance earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2024, making her the first Gujarati actress to receive the honour. She also served as a producer on the film under the Soul Sutra banner, which she co-founded with her husband, singer Parthiv Gohil.
As a producer, Parekh has worked on projects including Do Not Disturb, Golkeri, Kutch Express, Jhamkudi, and Laalo: Krishna Sada Sahaayate. Her recent acting credits include Jhamkudi (2024), Ittaa Kittaa (2024), Jab Khuli Kitaab (2024), Shubhchintak (2025), Maharani (2025), and Misri (2025).
