Manav Kaul

Biography

A multi-talented artist, Manav Kaul is a playwright, theatre director, filmmaker, and actor, whose career spans over two decades. He is the founder of the theatre group Aranya and has written, directed, or appeared in acclaimed productions like Shakkar ke Paanch Daane, Peele Scooter Wala Aadmi, and Bali aur Shambhu. 

 

As a film actor, Kaul has had prominent supporting roles in the movies Kai Po Che! (2013), Wazir (2016), and Tumhari Sulu (2017); the last of which earned him a Filmfare Awards nomination for Best Supporting Actor in 2018.

Besides these, Kaul has also directed an independent Hindi film titled Hansa (2012), which received accolades at the Osian`s Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in 2012. 

 

Other significant acting credits include CityLights (2014), Haider (2014), the black comedy Jolly LLB 2 (2017), the crime thriller Badla (2019), the political drama Madam Chief Minister (2021), Saina (2021) and Ajeeb Dastaans (2021).
