Mani C. Kappan
Biography
Mani C. Kappan is an Indian film producer, director and actor who has worked primarily in Malayalam cinema. Born on 30 May 1956 in Pala, Kerala, he has been associated with the film industry since the 1990s.
As a producer, he is known for films including Meleparambil Aanveedu (1993), CID Unnikrishnan B.A., B.Ed. (1994), Mannar Mathai Speaking (1995), Kusruthikaatu (1995), Mangalam Veettil Manaseswari Gupta (1995) and Man of the Match (1996).
Kappan made his directorial debut with Mannar Mathai Speaking (1995), a popular Malayalam comedy. He later directed the Assamese-Bengali bilingual film Borolar Ghor (2012), in which he also acted as Bankimchandra.
As an actor, he appeared in films including Kusruthikaatu, Mangalam Veettil Manaseswari Gupta, Man of the Match, Yuvathurki, Aalibabayum Aarara Kallanmaarum, Friends, Mark Antony, Iruvattam Manavatti and Praise the Lord.
Apart from cinema, Mani C. Kappan is also a former international volleyball player and politician. He has served as a member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly representing Pala.
