Biography
Maniyanpilla Raju is an Indian actor and film producer who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. Born Maniyanpilla Raju on 20 April 1955 in Thycaud, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, he has enjoyed a long career spanning several decades.
He began acting in the 1970s and gained recognition with films such as Maniyanpilla Adhava Maniyanpilla (1981), which gave him the screen name Maniyanpilla Raju. He subsequently appeared in numerous Malayalam films, playing both comic and supporting roles.
Raju has worked with many of Malayalam cinema's leading actors and filmmakers. His notable films include Chithram, Vandanam, Akkare Ninnoru Maran, Ayalum Njanum Thammil, Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Premam, among many others.
Apart from acting, he has also worked as a film producer, backing several Malayalam productions. His career is particularly noted for his versatility, with performances ranging from comedy and family dramas to serious supporting roles.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Maniyanpilla Raju remains a familiar and respected figure in Malayalam cinema.
