Biography

Mannan Shaah is an Indian music director, composer, and singer who primarily works in Hindi cinema. Known for his use of live Indian instruments in his compositions, he has established a reputation for blending classical training with contemporary Bollywood music.

 

 

Early Life and Education

Mannan Shaah was born and raised in India. He attended Shree Chandulal Nanavati Vinay Mandir and completed his bachelor’s degree from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He began training in classical music at the age of five, under the guidance of the late Pandit Vinayak Vora, and later became a disciple of Ustad Ghulam Mustafa Khan. He also assisted renowned music director Pritam for two years, gaining practical experience in the film music industry.

 

 

Career as a Singer and Composer

Mannan Shaah began his professional career in 2011 as a playback singer for Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s film Kucch Luv Jaisaa, lending his voice to songs like Thoda Sa Pyaar and Baadlon Pe Paon.

 

He made his debut as a film composer in 2013 with Commando: A One Man Army. He later composed music for several films, including:

 

Commando 2: The Black Money Trail (2017) – featuring the popular track Tere Dil Mein sung by Armaan Malik

 

Namaste England (2018)

Shaah is particularly noted for recording live musical instruments in his compositions, giving his soundtracks a rich, authentic texture and bridging classical and modern music styles.
