Marc Forster

Biography

A versatile artist, Marc Forster is a German-born film director, producer, and screenwriter who is known for making action films. Some of his films have been immensely popular around the world and have been massive earners at the box office. Having spent his childhood in Germany, Forster, moved to New York, United States in 1990 and he spent the next three years attending a film school at New York University. Whilst he was studying, he made several documentaries.

In 1995, Forster moved to Hollywood to shoot an experimental low-budget film called Loungers, which won the Slamdance Audience Award. After his initial success, he directed his maiden feature film Everything Put Together in 2000 and immediately rose to fame as his film won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature under $500,000. However, his best work was yet to come, he directed the multiple award-winning movie Finding Neverland (2004), which won five Academy Awards and five Golden Globes.

In 2006, Forster delivered yet another stellar hit, Stranger than Fiction (2006). The film Will Ferrell won a Golden Award for Best Actor in the Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. His other notable film credits include The Kite Runner (2007), Machine Gun Preacher (2011), World War Z (2013), and Christopher Robin (2018), an animation adventure comedy starring Ewan McGregor, Mark Gatiss, Chris O`Dowd and Brad Garrett.
