Marc McClure (born 31 March 1957) is an American actor best known for his roles in superhero films and family entertainment. He was born in San Mateo, California, USA.
McClure began his acting career as a child performer and made his film debut in the 1970s. He gained international recognition for playing Jimmy Olsen, the photographer and friend of Superman, in Superman: The Movie. He reprised the role in Superman II, Superman III, and Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, becoming one of the few actors to appear across the original Superman film series.
He also appeared as Dave McFly, Marty McFly’s older brother, in Back to the Future and returned for the sequel Back to the Future Part II. His other film credits include Freaky Friday, I Wanna Hold Your Hand, and Apollo 13.
Beyond acting, McClure has worked in television and independent films. He later appeared in a cameo role as Jimmy Olsen again in Justice League, connecting him once more with the Superman legacy.
With a career spanning more than four decades, Marc McClure is remembered for his memorable supporting roles in some of the most popular film franchises of the late 20th century, especially as Jimmy Olsen in the Superman series.
