Masahiro Yamaura
Biography
Masahiro Yamaura is a Japanese screenwriter known for his work in film and television. He began his professional writing career after winning the 14th Fuji TV Young Scenario Award in 2002 and made his television debut the following year.
Yamaura has written for a range of Japanese productions, including Ajin: Demi-Human (2017), Silent Tokyo (2020), The Fable: The Killer Who Doesn't Kill (2021), and House of Ninjas (2024). He served as a writer on five episodes of House of Ninjas, the Netflix series about a former ninja family drawn back into secret missions.
His later work includes Suzuki=Bakudan (Bakudan, 2025), for which he co-wrote the screenplay, and Till We Meet Again on the Starry Hill (2026). His screenplay for Till We Meet Again on the Lily Hill (2023) and other works have further established him as a prominent contemporary Japanese screenwriter.
Yamaura is particularly recognized for creating stories that combine drama, action, suspense, and human relationships, with his work spanning television dramas, feature films, and international streaming productions.
