Mathew Thomas
Biography
Mathew Thomas is an Indian actor who works primarily in Malayalam cinema, with appearances in Tamil films as well. Born on 16 October 2002 in Thiruvankulam, Kerala, he began his film career as a teenager and quickly became known for his natural performances.
Early Life and Career
Mathew Thomas studied at Gregorian Public School in Kochi. His entry into cinema came through an audition conducted at his school for Kumbalangi Nights (2019). He was selected by director Madhu C. Narayanan and made his acting debut in the film.
His breakthrough came in the same year with Thanneer Mathan Dinangal (2019), in which he played Jaison, a school student. The film became a major success and established him as one of the promising young actors in Malayalam cinema.
Acting Career
Following his early successes, Mathew appeared in films across different genres. His notable Malayalam films include Anjaam Pathiraa (2020), One (2021), Jo and Jo (2022), Christy (2023) and Neymar (2023).
He also expanded into Tamil cinema with Leo (2023), directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Vijay. The film introduced Mathew to a wider Tamil-speaking audience.
His later work includes Premalu (2024) and other Malayalam productions, further establishing him as part of the younger generation of South Indian actors.
